Waimana Gardening Circle

This month’s gardening circle was held at Mrs N. Potter’s home. Mrs M. King presided. Two new members were welcomed, Mrs Marra and Mrs Woolfield. Mrs Marra was judge for competitions. Mrs Woolfield gave a talk on the parks and gardens she saw in England and Scotland while on her recent tour. . Mrs Woolfield exhibited snaps of roof gardens. A competition, guessing number of maize in a bottle, was won by Mr Kelsen and Mrs Woolfield 2. Results of competitions:— Best bloom, Mrs J. Mitchell 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs Kelsen 3; best vegetable, Mrs Kelsen 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs M. King 3; floral Bon Bon, Miss J. Wylde 1, Mrs Hewitt 2, Mrs Hodgson 3.
