Chamber Will Help With Appeal
The Chamber of Commerce could probably assist the War Memorial Committee by collecting funds, said Mr H. G. Warren to the annual meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday night. The stage had not yet been reached where an organised collection could be made. This was the only way in which the Chamber could be of direct assistance, said Mr R. T. Morpeth. It was decided that the Chamber would offer to collect throughout the town.
