Ohope Said To Have Been Neglected

Ohope had been neglected from the point of view of amenities and access. It was the ambition* of the Chamber to have close liaison with Ohope, said Mr R. T. Morpeth at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce. The dust menace on the road was great. There had been roads from other towns to beaches for years. He believed that Ohope could become the best beach in the Bay of Plenty. Ohope members of the Chamber referred to the scope for progress and the effect of progress on that of the town.
