Good Weight Bacon Brings The Prices
Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale on Monday, when there was a large yarding of baconers, porkers, store, pigs and slips and a small yarding of weaner pigs, baconers of the correct weight still making £6 18s, while over-weight pigs were not in keen demand Stores, slips and weaners met with a good sale and a total clearance was effected. Realisations were:—
Prime heavy bacon, £6 17s to £6 18s; heavy bacon, £6 8s to' £6 15s; medium, £6 3s to £6 6s; light, £5 18s to £6; good porkers, £5 4s to £5 14s; large stores, £5 2s to £5 11s; good slips, £4 4s to £4 16s; small slips, £3 12s to £3 14s; good weaners, £1 16s to £2 Is; medium, £1 13s 6d; small £1 4s 6d; aged sows with litters at foot, £7 2s 6d to £7 10s.
