Functions In Aid Of War Memorial
Various Whakatane organisations now propose to provide functions in aid of the War Memorial. They include an athletic meeting, a rowing regatta and a repertory show.
The entertainment sub-commit-tee has elected an executive to handle these functions. It is proposed to advertise for an organiser at a retainer and a percentage of collections. An appointment will be made when the Government’s subsidy decision is known.
