Weaners Wanted At Te Puke Sale
New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports as follows on their Te Puke stock sale of Tuesday:— Pigs were again yarded in large numbers. Values were 2/- a head easier for heavy baconers but all other classes of pigs improved on recent quotations. Competition was exceptionally keen on weaners and small stores. The following is a range of prices realised:— Pigs: Choppers, £6 to £7; prime heavy baconers, £6 19s to £7 Is; medium baconers, £6 15s to £6 18s; light baconers, £6 6s 'to £6 12s; large buttermilk pigs, £5 18s to £6 4s; heavy porkers, £5 15s to £5 18s; light porkers, £4 15s to £5 ss; medium store pigs, £4 15s to £5 Is; small store pigs, £3 15s to £4 15s; slips, £3 to £3 12s; weaners, £2 7s to £3 4s. Cattle: Fat cows ex dairy, £ll to £l4; light fat cows, £8 to £io; boner cows, £7 to £9; light boner cows, £3 to £6.
