PARLIAMENTARY VISITORS IN WHAKATANE

Led by Lord Wilmot and conducted by Mr C. H. Mackley and Mr J. J. Maher, M.P., a party of visitors to the Commonwealth Parliamentary conference was in Whakatane on Wednesday.

Arriving from Rotorua in the late morning, they were met by the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, Councillors and Borough officers.

They went to Ohope and swam before lunch. In the afternoon, they saw the Board Mills. There was a Mayoral reception for them at the Whakatane Hotel before they were the guests of the Board Mills at dinner at the Commercial.
