Nukuhou SchoolMaster Farewelled
Mi- and Mrs Grant were guests at an enjoyable dance in the Nukuhouse school recently, when friends * gathered there to bid them farewell. Mr Grant has been schoolmaster at Nukuhou for a number of years. King's orchestra played the dance music and Mr A. Mr B. Clements obliged with extras. Mr H. Spanhake.and Mr W. Ball were joint M.C.'s. The novelty dances were popular. After supper, Mr H. White, chairman of the school committee, called on Mr and Mrs Grant to accept a chiming clock in appreciation of what they had done for all, especially the children. Mrs Grant had also abeen a tower of ~ help to all' at all times, especially at functions. The school and garden? were also a credit to them. -Mrs White presented Mrs Grant with a. shoulder spray, wishing her good luck in their new home at Woodlands.
Mr Grant responded on behalf of Mrs Grant and himself, thanking Mr White and all for the lovely cloek given them. Mr Grant stated he had always tried to do his best for the children arid all concerned, and would take happy memories with him of their days at Nukuhcu. He wished Mr Clarkson all the best during his term as master at Nukuhou. He also thanked Miss Croft for her assistance, whichp>he said, was a great help. Mr Potter, headmaster of the Waimana school, spoke of the cooperation of Mr Grant.
