Not Possible To Keep Grass Down

Grass in the borough was not being neglected but at this time of the year, grass could not be kept down to lawn height, said the chairman of the works committee, Cr H. G. Warren, at a meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council on Monday night. He was replying to criticism expressed at a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce.

Mr Warren suggested that the services be secured of a part-time worker. He was supported by Cr R. S. Buttimore and it was decided to investigate.
