RECORD BROKEN AND HOLE IN ONE AT WAIMANA

The course record was broken and there was a hole in one at the Waimana golf course at the weekend. Both were the performances of Opotiki visitors who were on an official trip to Waimana. A record of 68 (four below par) for the course was scored by R. Bennett. The previous record was 71.

Mr Barr, of Opotiki, holed out in one at the fifth. At the clubhouse he was paraded through an archway of clubs.
