Otakiri Y.F.C.’s Ploughing Match

The Otakiri Young Farmers’ Club’s annual ploughing match was held under good conditions on Mr E. Alexander’s property on Wednesday. Twelve entries were received. A good gathering of spectators atended, showing keen interest in both the ploughing abilities of the contestants and the ma/chines.

The winner of the contest, Mr J. Rangitakatu, was congratulated on his fine performance by Mr W. A. McCracken, who made*.the presentation of the cup donated by Mr K. Barton. Awards were also gained by J. Rangitakatu for best steering and best ins and outs. Second place and best finish were won by Mr S. McLean, with Messrs B. Waters and R. Barton equal for third. Mr J. Hawken was credited with straightest ploughing.
