Pig Prices Better Than Hoped For
Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly pig sale on Monday, when there was a small yarding of bacon and a good yarding of store pigs. Competition on all classes remained exceptionally keen and sales exceeded vendors’ expectations. Realisations were:—
Prime! heavy baconers to £7 3s, light bacon, £6 2s to £6 8s; heavy porkers, £5 15s to £5 19s; light porkers; £5 2s to £5 7s; large stores, £4 13s to £ 51s; good slips, £4 2s to £4 ss.
