Farewell Function Held In Honour Of Mr H. L. King

Staffs of all Whakatane bamrs and a big group of citizens on Tuesday evening fare welled Mr H. L. King, who is retiring from the management of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand.

Mr King will finish his service on Friday and will be on leave until the end of the month.

The function was held at the Whakatane Hotel.

Presenting Mr King with a chiming clock, Mr G. T. Lodge spoke of the high esteem in which Mr King had been held. Managers of other banks referred to the friendly relations which had existed. Mr King expressed thanks.

.A welcome was extended to his successor, Mr V. C. Bailey, who said he hoped that the friendly spirit shown would continue to exist.
