YOUR BEER IS CHEAPER NOW

Believed to be the result of efforts by brewers to meet expected competition from wholesale licencees, bottled beer is now down in price in Whakatane.

Though the reduction in price is not yet official throughout New Zealand, it came into effect in Whakatane yesterday. The effect of reductions, ranging from a penny to fourpence a bottle, is to bring prices of all grades •closer to one another than before. This is what your bottled beer now costs: — Draught, 2/- a bottle. Ordinary bottled, 2/1. Lager and Southern, 2/2.
