Whakatane Churches Will Combine For Annual Competitions

Started last year by Knox Church, the Whakatane churches competitions will be held on Monday and Tuesday. This year, the Anglican and Methodist Churches will be associated with Knox Church in the conduct of the festival.

Elocutionary, vocal and pianoforte items will be held on Monday afternoon and dancing events -on Tuesday. On Tuesday night, there will be a final concert and presentation of awards. Entries in the dancing section are particularly numerous but the committee is rather disappointed in the number of entries for musical events. Nevertheless, a high standard is expected.
