MANY WHAKATANE RESIDENTS MAY BUY STATE HOUSES
Though so far only three or four Whakatane State rental house residents have applied to purchase their homes, many inquiries have been received, stated an officer of the State Advances Corporation at Tauranga yesterday. From Te Puke, also, there had been numerous inquiries,, he said. Forms of application had been sent to all who requested them. The forms were non-committal and did not tie the resident to the purchase of a house until full details of the price and payment conditions were known.
It was obvious, it was said, that most people were waiting to receive these details before making up their minds whether or not to buy their houses.
