Straying Stock On County Roads Is Concern To Council
Prosecutions are to be made by the Whakatane County Council against those people who continually allow stock to stray on roads. Some concern was felt at yesterday’s meeting at the increasing number of horses found on many county roads. Figures reported by the inspector, Mr A. R. Carling, show that straying stock- are on the increase.. Last month 88 horses, 12 cows and one bull were impounded from roads in the Waimang, Ruatoki, Opouriao, Poroporo, Paroa, Te Teko, Otpkiri and Edgecumbe districts. Pound and sale totalled £74 Is.
