Record Entries For Golf Club's Annual Winter Tournament
Record entries have been received for the Whakatane Golf Club's annual winter tournament to be held during the coming week-end. Of the 109 entries received 42 are from outside clubs and amongst the visitors are low handicap players from Auckland, Hamilton, Feilding, Tauranga and Rotorua. The present holder of the Winter Cup, F. W. Ward (scratch), Tauranga, will be competing and will have strong opposition from a number of competitors oh handicaps of three and under.
The course is in splendid condition and given good weather some very fine golf should be seen. The draw and starting times for the first round: —
