Thornton Women Meet
The roll call, sing, say or pay, was well responded to at the monthly meeting of the Thornton Women's Institute. Wall competitions were won by Mrs T. Mexted and Mrs Learning.
Competition results: — Flower, Mrs T. Mexted 1, Mrs Tooke 2; vegetable, Mrs B. Smith 1, Mrs D. Branch 2; chocolate cake, Mrs Mexted 1, Mrs C. Smith 2; floating bowl, Mrs Branch 1, Mrs Mexted 2; cushion cover, Mrs Cowie 1, Mrs Tooke 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Tooke, Foote and Magee.
