Dearer Haircuts For High School Pupils

Secondary school pupils at Whakatane will have to pay an extra 6d now when they go into the barber’s shop to have a haircut. A new order from the Price Tribunal has fixed the price for haircuts for secondary school pupils, irrespective what age they are, at Is 6d. Formerly all boys at Whakatane under 15 could have a haircut for Is but now there is a distinction. Only primary school children and children under school age will pay Is. The charge of 2s for adults remains unaltered. On Friday the charge of a haircut for children and adults is 2s.
