Hodson Case Is Closed
“Death due to wounds of the chest involving the heart and made by gunshot” was the finding of the coroner, Mr C. S. Armstrong, at Whakatane yesterday into the death of Frederick Stanley Hodson, bacteriologist, who was found dead at Onepu on February 13,. De-tective-Sergeant R. H. Waterson, Gisborne, said he attended the trial at Auckland of Chesley Lachlan Brooks, labourer, formerly of Edgeeumbe, who was charged with manslaughter. He was found guilty and subsequently sentenced to twelve years imprisonment.
