Waimana Gun Club Opens New Season
The opening day of the Waimana Rod and Gun Club took the form of a picnic shoot at the club’s grounds during the week-end. The weather v;as fine but a cold wind made conditions a little difficult at times.
A full programme of shot gun rifle shooting was provided and judging by the enthusiasm of the large crowd the success of this new club is assured.
Visitors were Messrs J. D. Rivett of the Whakatane County Rod and Gun Club,- and W. Tyssen, of the Whakatane Legion of Frontiersmen Miniature Rifle Club. Results of the main shoots: —
Rifle: Main Shoot: W. Tyssen 86 1, Bish Wardlaw 83 2. D. Mercer 79
Shot Gun: Eyeopener: N. Eagle and V. Addison 1 equal, E. Addison. W. J. Rivett, R. Bell 2.
Quail Drive: F. Hughes, possible Box Shoot: C. Wardlaw. Gimcrack W. J. Rivett and D. Boynton.
