Cellophone Baskets Of Flowers
Celophane baskets of flowers, which were later taken to the hospital, made an attractive display at the monthly meeting of the Thornton Women’s Institute presided over by Mrs Branch. Mrs Tooke sang a song. Competition results:— Best bloom, Mrs Robb 1, Mrs Tooke 2; vegetable, Mrs Tooke 1, Mrs Sheat 2; biscuits, Mrs Tooke 1, Mrs Ferguson 2; cellophane baskets, Mrs Morgan 1, Mrs Hitchens 2; tray cloth, Mrs Law 1, Mrs Tooke 2.
Hostesses were Mesdames Arbuckle, Ferguson and Fisher.
