Although Season Has Closed Pony Clubs Will Carry On
Although the club will officially go into recess until October unofficial activities will be carried on during the year until a combined rally re-opens the season it was stated at a committee meeting of the Whakatane Pony Club held on Monday night. Children and their ponies will take part in the Whakatane winter show parade again this year, the arrangements being in charge of Mr Davis of the White Pine Bush Branch. The committee were unanimous in their appreciation of the help received from the St .John Ambulance and the Legion of Frontiersmen during the season, also to the many willing helpers who have so greatly assisted the club 10 get established. Another branch has been formed in Galatea and when the next combined rally takes place it is expected that their riders will be ready to. compete.
Mr McKay, of the Te Aroha Club and a New Zealand Pony Club A - sociation demonstrator, held a three-days course for instructors during May and benefitted the club.
