Had No Permits
Although he said he would obtain a permit the following day William Huriwaka, labourer, Te Whaiti, failed to do so when he purchased a firearm from Peter William Fairbrother, Whakatane, and the sequel .was. a conviction and fine of £l, costs 7s, in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday. For delivering possession of the firearm without a permit Fairbrother was also convicted and fined £l, costs- 12s.
