Matata May Have Own Sub-Branch Of Plunket Society

The report of the year’s activities from the Matata Sub-Committee, presented by Mrs Rupert Withy, showed that it is now strong enough to form a sub-centre it was stated at the annual meeting, of the Edgecumbe Sub--Centre of the Plunket Society. Both the Sub-Centre and the Sub-Committee reported an active and successful year’s programme.

During the year at Edgecumbe 86 new baby cases were attended by the nurse. A total of 642 babies were attended, there were 276 visits to homes, 102 telephone consultations, 11 pre-school visits of children aged two to five while 679 679 visited the clinic. Officers elected: —

President, Mrs J. B. Spiers; vicepresidents, Mesdames D. McCorquindale, S. Watson; secretary, Mrs J. Lenin; treasurer, Mrs E. Cameron; auditor, Mr R. E. Blair; committee, Mesdames J. Nolan, S. Yardley, A. Crook, A. Blake, W. Gibbons, J. Anderson, B. Wilson, V. Storer, S. Pearce, D. Thompson and G. Irving.
