luquiries around Whakatane show pthat there exists some confusion as L regards the set-up of the-Whaka- | tane secondary and primary schools. Since the end of last year when the Whakatane District High School was disestablished there have been two separate and distinct schools. district is catered for-by. the> Whakatane High School whose Principal is Mr I. McHarg. The high school telephone number is 101 S, a£ listed in the pink sheet in the front of the telephone directory. The primary school, whose Headmaster is Mr A. H. Fryer-Raisher, is also on the same telephone line but the number is 101 D.
People ringing either school would save a great deal of inconvenience and confusion if, when ringing, they gave the correct letter with the telephone number.
