Keen Competition Noted For Both Sheep And Cattle
Dalgety & Co. Ltd. report having held their fortnightly stock sale on Thursday, when they had a medium yarding of sheep, and a good yarding of boner cattle. Competition on all classes was particularly keen, especially in the cattle section, where a sharp rise was shown on all previous quotations.
Realisations were:— attp forward wethers, to 365, aged ewes R.W. Southdown rams, 255, tailend wethers, small and lame, 255. Cattle Section: Heavy Jersey cows, £lO to £lO 10s, medium Jersey cows, £9 to £9 12s 6d, light Jersey cows, £8 15s to £8 17s, heavy boners, £8 to £8 ss, medium boners, £7 10s to £7 17s, light boners, £6 9s to £6 17s 6d, potter bulls, according to weight, £6 to £6 10s.
