Poor Attendance At Annual Meeting Of Beautifying Society
An obvious lack of interest by the public was shown at the annual meeting of the Whakatane Beautifying Society last night when there was an attendance of only nine, including a representative of the press. Despite this a comprehensive programme of work for the year was planned of tree planting in streets.
It was decided to plant citrus and feijoa trees in Salonika Street but residents are to be requested to take care of the plants. Officers elected:—
