Government Grants To County Exceed Those Of Previous Years

Government grants received in the past year totalled £21,005 as 9d the report presented to the annual meeting yesterday of the Whakatane County Council stated. This was over £7500 more than the amount received the previous year. Road Grants £3772 16s 9d (£1276 16s 10d)- M.H.B. Subsidy £7232 4s lOd (£3852 19s lOd); Thirds and Fifths £3134 4s 2d (£1954 2s 3d); Grant in Lieu Crown Rates £509 6s 3d (£495 3s 7d). Total £21,005 5s Wd (£13,485 2s).
