End Of Petrol Rationing Urged By Motorists

The council of the North Island Motor Union has resolved to express to the Minister of supply the strong opinion that petrol rationing ffad served its purpose and should be lifted.

The president, Mr W. H. Brown, said that Mr Holland had told a deputation that he was sympathetic, but added that the position of the London funds was such that they would be embarrassed by an increase in the importation of petrol. Mr Brown said he felt there would be no increase in petrol consumption if rationing were abolished.
