Teams On Equal Terms In Senior Rugby Competition
Rugby at Whakatane has now reached an interesting stage in the senior competition in that two teams, Wairaka and Paroa, are in the lead and each have six points, United and Poroporo are second equal with four while Taneatua and Ruatoki are trailing behind with no points. Tomorrow’s fixtres should provide some interesting features as each of the teams on equal terms will meet to decide how the competition ladder is going to line up tomorrow night.
In the junior section United and School are in the lead with six points. Behind with two points each come Wairaka, Paroa and Taneatua with Poroporo in behind. A similar position prevails in the third grade where the two School teams are leading with four points, then come Ruatoki and United with two while Paroa has yet to win. Here are details of teams as they stand in the competitions at the present time:—
