Heifers Come Forward Well Despite Poor Feed Conditions
Heifers came forward in quite good condition considering the adverse feed conditions of the past few months at the sale held on account of Mr R. \J. Hewison, Te Puke, by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. and Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. Competition was not so keen as previous years and prices realised were generally below recent paddock sales. The following is a range of prices realised:— Best quality Jersey heifers, £l6 to £18; other good quality Jersey heifers, £l3 10s to £ls 10s; smaller heifers and later calves, £ll to £l3; dairy cows, close to profit, £l4 to £l9.
