Four Senior Rugby Teams Nominated In Rangitaiki Union

Four teams were nominated for the senior competition of the Rangitaiki Rugby Sub-Union at the annual meeting held at Edgecumbe and it was decided to commence competition in all grades tomorrow. Four junior teams were nominated and three third grade teams. Those teams nominated for the senior competion are: Thornton, Matata, Edgecumbe and Te Teko. Junior: Otakiri, Edgecumbe, Matata and Te Teko. Third grade: Matata, Otakiri and Edgecumbe. The appointment of selectors was left for a future meeting. In presenting his report the president, Mr B. Magee, congratulated last season’s winning teams and thanked the referees, St John and other officials who had helped the Union during the year. Officers elected:—

Patron, Mr T. H. Anderson; president, Mr B. Magee; secretarytreasurer-, Mr C. E. Thompson; vicechairman, Mr G. O. Lord; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs C. Eivers, H. S Mexted, H. L. Anderson, F. Burt, A. Robins, Oliver and all club presidents; committee, Messrs Lord, Anderson, J. Hyland, W. Coates; auditor, Mr A. Graham.
