Band Rotunda As Rugby Dressing Shed

As the band rotunda in the Domain is rapidly falling into disrepair the Whakatane Borough Council is concerned about its future and decided at the monthly meeting this week to offer it to the Whakatane Rugby Union as a possible dressing shed. Councillor R. T. Morpeth said that it seemed at present that the rotunda would never be used by the band for concerts and he thought it might be useful as a dressing shed for Rugby teams. The inside could be partitioned with a canvas wall while the outside could be easily covered in.
