Tuberculosis Could Be Eradicated From N.Z.’s Dairy Herds

Mr Rees, veterinary surgeon of the Rangitaiki Dairy Factory, addressed the monthly meeting of the Awakeri Young Farmers’ Club on tuberculosis, its importance to dairy farmers and human health. He explained how T.B. had been eradicated from English dairy farms and could easily be done in this country also. After answering numerous questions Mr Rees was applauded a hearty vote of thanks. A field day at the local dairy factory was reported on, members being greatly impressed with the new dried buttermilk plant recently installed. The proposed field day for this month is a visit to a Whakatane concrete works.

Arrangements were made for the collection of foliage for the annual ball to be held at Whakatane next month. The evening concluded with supper provided by members of the Country Girls’ Club.
