New Plan Of Town Is To Be Placed On View To Public
When the new plan of Whakatane under the town planning scheme is received it will be placed on public view in the Council Chambers. This was decided by the Whakatane Borough Council after a letter from the Whakatane Citi_zens’ .Association asking for information of the town planning proposal was considered. ■ So far the plan has not been received through some delay by the town planner. Inquiring about the hold up Cr K. Needham suggested that if the present delay was any indication of the workings of the town planning the plan should be tossed “overboard.” The Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, replied that the plan would have to be considered first.
