Otakiri R.S.A. Smoko Was Popular And Well Attended

The Otakiri R.S.A.’s annual smoko last Friday evening was well attended, and most enjoyable. Highlights of the evening were the way Mr R. J. Barton excelled as toastmaster, the ever popular pianist, Ted Briggs, winning the competition, the fact that Tusi Tala (teller of tales) had nothing on Messrs Mason and Roach and the poultry' supper. The following were toasted:— The King, Mr R. Barton; R.S.A., Mr A. Smith, reply T. Mackin; Absent Friends, Mr A. Cliffe; Combined Services, Mr A. Hegh, Mr C. Lockyer (Kiwis), Mr Barton (Diggers), Mr A. Smith (Ladies), Mr High, Mr L. Roach; The President, Mr H. Mexted, Mr Cliffe; Otakiri R.S.A., Mr Roach, Mr Cliffe.
