Further Reduction In Power Wanted

The present evening power cuts from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. is to continue over Easter, the borough electrical engineer, Mr F. Lysaght, said last night. The cut will be on as usual tomorrow, even though Thursday is the late shopping night for this week. All consumers are being asked to make even further evts in their consumption by at least another 15 per cent. If this is not done the Bay of Plenty Power Board may be forced to bring in more drastic cuts, Mr Lysaght said.
