Start Of Power Cuts Delayed To Tonight

Because arrangements could not be made.- in the short time from Friday to Saturday f«r the country areas power cults were not commenced at Whakatane during the week-end as previously advised, but the Borough Council has advised that they will start in the borough tonight when power will be off for one hour from 6.30 to 7.30. This cut wil also include the county and other areas served by the Bay of Plenty Power Board.. The cuts are to continue until further notice or, possibly urttil the present amount exceeding the allocation is brought, down to within the quota. A further appeal has been made by the electricity department to consumers to save all power 1 wherever possible.
