Installation Of New Water Pump Complete

Installation of the new pump to help pump Whakatane’s water supply has now been completed and in all tests has proved entirely satisfactory, according to the borough electrical engineer, Mr F. Lysaght. it has been in action on a number of occasions but before it is left and brought into normal operation it is to be given tiipe to “wear itself in.” There have been a number of minor adjustments necessary but these have been made without any trouble. When -the pump is ready it is planned to use it and the present machine on alternate days so that there will be one pump standing by all the time.
