RANGITAIKI SECOND IN CHAMPIONSHIPS A close second placing was gained by Rangitaiki in the Bay of Plenty Defence Rifle Clubs’ annual teams championship held at Te Puke last week-end. Six clubs competed but conditions were not good, a high prevailing wind gnd a smoky haze over the target area being the biggest difficulties. The meeting was also attended by the Taneatua Club. * Teams of ten marksmen fired over the distance of 500 and 600 for both competitions the results being as follows: Bay of Plenty Teams’ Match (seven aggregates only): Tauranga 626; Rangitaiki 607; Rotorua 585; Taneatua 544; Reporoa 535: Te Puke 526.
