Good Attendance To Ohope W.I. Meeting
The annual meeting of the Ohope Women’s Institute was held at Mahy’s camp, Mrs White presiding over a fair attendance. Officers elected: Mrs White, president; Mrs Cutler, vice-president; Mrs Dickson, treasurer; Mrs Thomason, secretary. Mrs K. Stewart, district organiser for Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes, was welcomed to the meeting, and gave an address on Institute affairs. Points prizes for the year were won by Mrs Dickson, Mrs Clark being second. Points for March meeting were:— Best flower, Mrs Dickson 1, Mrs Thomason 2; best vegetable, Mrs White 1, Mrs Gilbert 2. Mesdames Parr and Stevenson were hostesses for afternoon tea and Mrs Campbell presided over the sales table. At the conclusion of the business, Mrs Stewart demonstrated ru£ mnk’ng from felt hats.
