MANY HORSES PREPARING FOR TE TEKO MEETING

(By "Carbine") I The Te Teko race track is in fine | order for the approaching race ' meeting on March 25 and the gardens and lawns are expected to be at their best and all credit must go to the local residents of Te Teko. | The tracks are being kept busy I by horses preparing for the meetI ing and other meetings to follow. ' In the last few mornings some fine ! times have ben registered over all distances.

Bright Appearance Royal Silver bright appearance and led Kukunui over one mile to cover the distance in 1.38 255. Triplicity was paired with Adonis over ,five furlongs and finished on a fast note, to record 1.2 3-5. Snooks and Quiezal also worked well over four furlongs. Raleigh, who' bears an improved appearance was out on the tracks and was given strong pace work over two miles. This, horse is little short of the best in the country at the moment. Sleepy View started out over a mile and picked up Bramble Leighon ,at the six furlong and beat his companion pointlessly in the good time of 1.38 4-5 unextended.

I Lady Aquillus, who has been under a cloud, worked impressively over four furlongs but was not timed. She is in good heart at present and if rain falls in the meantime * will make her presence felt in any race her owner chooses to start her. i A New Purchase Messrs R. Glen and C. Eivers have just purchased a very nice 2 year old (by Foxbridge-Huia) the price in the vicinity of £250. They intend to give this fine colt his first run in the Maiden at Te Teko. He was out on the track last week and galloped impressively. Horses/from other centres have begun to arrive in the district for preparation. Among those here | now are Robbie Burns, Golden I Hero, General Sand, a year old un- ' named by Defaulter, Gold Robin, , and Homing Pigeon.
