Fine Performance By Whakatane Sportsman
I Although still walking round with his neck in plaster, the result of a recent fall from a horse at the Te Puke Show, the veteran Whakatane sportsman, A. Stewart, was out in full force to the Pukehina , sports on Saturday and although he could not ride entered other ' events. In the stockwhip competition he was narrowly defeated into second place by the undefeated champion of the Bay of Plenty, J. Pattie. This was a remarkable performance by the Whakatane man who was hampered by plaster and j bandages. J Successful Whakatane competi- , tors were:—
