TWO FIXTURES DRAWN FOR WEEK-END Two matches, which should produce some good cricket will be played at Whakatane over the weekend. Tomorrow the strong United Club will commence a return game with Matamata, whom they defeated earlier this season. Recent reports received at Whakatane however, indicate that Matamata have a considerably improved and stronger eleven. On Sunday the Collins Shield fixture will be continued with P. and T. meeting Waimana at Whakatane.

* TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The junior residential Bay of Plenty tennis championships are to be played at Whakatane dux*ing the week-end starting from tomorrow and will be attended by players from all over the district. The senior A championships are to be played at Tauranga and the senior B games at Te Puke.
