WHAKATANE ARCHERS MISS N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS Although two Whakatane archers, Mr and Mrs R. Hunter, had nominated for the New Zealand Archery Championships now being held at Wellington the non arrival of a set of arrows prevented them from attending. Followers of the sport consider that Mrs Hunter wohld probably have been up with the finalists as in the last few shoots she has been averaging scores higher than any other woman archer in the country. The championships were to have commenced at Athletic Park on Monday but a strong wind damaged some of the targets and arrows but shooting is expected to start today.
