Decrease In Births Noted At Hospital

Compared with the figures for the previous /two months there was a slight decrease in the number of births registered at the Whakatanc District Hospital during February, according to the statistical report of the medical superintendent, Dr. E. T. Dawson, presented to the monthly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board yesterday. There were 35 births, 19 male and 16 female.

At the beginning of the month there were 107 patientp (45 male and 62 female) in the hospital but this number had decreased to 93 (38 male, 55 female) by the end of February. - During the month. there were 133 admissions (41 male, 92 female) and 142 patients discharged (47 male, 95 female). Deaths totalled five, four being females.
