Large Attendance To Annual Meeting Of The Manawahe W.I.

The annual general meeting of the Manawahe Women’s Institute was held in the Manawahe Hall. The attendance was good and several visitors were given a hearty welcome including Mrs McCallion, Federation President, of Opotiki, Mrs Withy (Senr) and Mrs R. Withy, Matata. Officers elected:— President, Mrs E. Goldsmith; secretary, Mrs L. Baldwin; treasurer. Mrs Jones. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Baldwin and Miss C. Crawford. Points prizes for the past year were presented as follows: g Best flower, Mesdames J. Bowden land Baldwin 1 equal; best shrub, Mrs Baldwin T; home industries. Mrs Bowden 1. Monthly competitions:—

„ Best flower, Mrs J. Wilding 1‘ Mrs F. Appleby 2; best shrub, IVXrs Bowden 1; best vegetable, Mrs Baldwin 1, Mrs Jones 2; thrift article, Mrs Bowden 1,-Mrs G. , Logan 2.
