No Assistance To Be Given China By N.Z.

Because of the unsatisfactory distribution of goods in China the executive of the New Zealand Red Cross Society has decided to discontinue sending relief supplies to that country, Mrs A. W. Winstone, secretary of the Eastern Bay of Plenty .Centre, said on her return to Whakatane this week. The Society had adopted that policy of refraining from assistance until it could feel that the relief w|ll really reach those for whom it is intended.

In contrast the Society had received several letters expressing appreciation of the urgent assistance that had been provided.
